Mont Blanc Backcountry ski - 4810 m
1 guide for 2 personnes
If the ascent of Mont Blanc Backcountry 4810 m remains an essential objective for all mountaineers, make downhill ski (snowboard or telemark) is truly the most beautiful way of exploring this itinerary.
Many access routes are possible, depending on the conditions of the mountain and your shape:
- the North ridge of the dome du Gouter from Grands Mulets refuge
- Aiguilles du Gouter and the edge of the bumps from Gouter hut
- 3 monts from cosmiques shelter
Minimum 2500 m of descent by the north face, imagine!
for the 'experts' technical corridors Italian side are also possible to be skied, and original and sexy access to Grands Mulets refuge... talk about ;-)
Pointe Yeld - Steep Skiing
Discovery of the steep ski or really steep itinerary, it is possible to modulate the difficulties of the ski descent from Yeld Point, according to the passage left bank or right of the glacier.
Difficulty right bank: TD, 50 °, on 500m, 5.2
The approach is fast in ski touring, from the Skyway Helbronner cable car or Aiguille du Midi and a short climb with crampons to join the first ridge. Then follows a first downhill ski debonair but exquisite, then a quick climb to get on top of the descent proper, AMBIANCE!
The route travels between the seracs of the north-east face on 800m to the Periades glacier. From here, it is possible to put the skins to chaining with the Puiseux point, the Tacul and Capucin glacier neck, the Mallet shoulder or the shoulder of the Tacul. Big day then ;-)
On these slopes, generally oriented north, are in good conditions until late in the season.
GREAT SKI, in a fantastic setting, but you have to know that the fall is often forbidden
